Behind the Scenes

Youll have noticed theres been alot going on in the Women & Girls space here at Stewartry, and we are excited to share the Women & Girls Club Support Team for the 2024/25 Season with you all

Leading the way is our first female president – Clare Dooley, who is supported by our Club RDO Ross Sanderson, and Lauren Nicholson who takes on the newly created Director of Women & Girls Rugby role(interm). All three share a similar passion for developing Women & Girls Rugby

Leading for the Womens 1st XV this season will be newly elected Captain Lisa Ritchie supported by co-vice captains Betti Ginnelly & Kerys Milven. All three coming together to bring experience, leadership, youth and commitment for the next two seasons.

We are delighted to have the support of all FOUR girls coaches:

Womens 1st XV Head Coach – John Dawson was successful in the postion and joins the team officially next week.

Under 16 & 18 Galloway Girls (Stewartry) Coach – Hannah Sainsbury retains the role again this season sharing more of her passion & experience with the girls ahead of their step up to Womens Rugby.

Under 14 Girls Coach – Ralph Spernagel & John Dawson retain the role again following a hugely successful season for the u14 girls last year growing not only in numbers but talent too!

Under 12 Girls Coach – Dawn Campbell joins the Stewartry RFC coaching sqaud as our new Under 12s Girls coach. We are delighted to be starting a girls only Under 12s squad this season and Dawn brings a wealth of passion, enthusiasm and love for rugby to the coaching sqaud!

As we look to build on the success of the Women & Girls section, we need to continue to build on Support Team. We have a number of roles available we would love for you to check out and let us know if theres a role / part of a role you think you would enjoy check out the available roles here
