The Stewartry RFC committee are delighted to announce our new Stewartry Family Pledge. We are committed as a club to support our players and to be a family friendly club and we hope the Family Pledge solidifies our commitment to that.
Starting in 2025, our pledge will offer our female players:
– a freeze on membership during pregnancy & maternity leave
– a support group for expecting & playing mums
– a 6-month paid membership to the postpartum plan with access to all of their amazing resources and industry experts to help our female players return to exercise & rugby if they desire, and be prepared both physically & mentally
– assistance in finding non-playing duties if desired and support on desired qualifications to assist with the role
To support our female players & Stewartry Families:
– As part of our new clubhouse extension, we have incorporated a ‘family room’ for any family to use. This will be a calm, relaxing and private room dedicated to families allowing a space to breastfeed, change and sterilisation if required.
– following the completion of the gym extension, the club gym will have dedicated ‘family friendly’ hours with a playpen for young children.
We are very excited and proud as a club to be able to support families in this way. There is more to come in this space in 2025 as we are currently working behind the scenes with healthcare professionals on a return to rugby handbook & app to be shared with the wider rugby community!
