Scholarship Programme
What are Scholarships?
Scholarships are a form of financial aid that is awarded to current and potential players who are experiencing difficulty with paying membership fees, usually due to a change in their financial circumstances. These scholarships are awarded on a case-by-case basis.
What do scholarships cover?
Scholarships cover any playing membership option. This includes the Adult, Midi and Mini memberships
How to apply and how are they awarded?
After discussing with the Club’s Director of Rugby, John Muir, players can submit a request via email to stewartryrugby1970@gmail.com. Scholarship requests are reviewed on a monthly basis throughout the year through the Committee subgroup. The group reviews requests and decides on recipients’ awards.
How long do scholarships last?
Awards are made for a single year. In some cases, a player’s financial difficulties may be temporary while in others, they may span more than one year of the player’s time at Stewartry Rugby Club. In this case, the player would need to reapply each year to be considered for an annual scholarship.
