Calling all Youth Members aged 14 to 20! Join the SRFC Youth Panel and you can look forward to:

• A great learning and working experience with other young people from across the club
• Support the sport you’re passionate about;
• An opportunity to co-design services and programmes to the benefit young aspiring rugby players across the Stewartry.

Who we are

Stewartry Rugby Club have over 100 youth members ranging from 5 to 18.
We offer rugby playing opportunities to all our local communities hoping to inspire life long participation within the sport of rugby.

What’s the SRFC Youth Panel?

The SRFC Youth Panel is the idea put forward to help shape the future of SRFC and their programmes.  That is what the Youth Panel is all about – giving you the opportunity to use your insights and experiences to help shape the future direction of Rugby in the Stewartry and possibly Dumfries and Galloway.
The SRFC Youth Panel will be composed of 8 young people, aged 14 to 20, selected from among our members.

What’s your role?

As an SRFC Youth Panel member, you will be asked to provide insights into the challenges, experiences and priorities of young players today. You will also act as Youth Ambassadors for your club – promoting the programmes and opportunities offered to your friends and peers. Plus, you can receive SRFC’s support to organise activities in your community relating to issues you feel passionate about.

Your term mandate will mainly consist of:

• Participating in insights workshops where you will debate and give input on what it means to be a young player today and how young people can be supported;
• Meeting the SRFC Director of Rugby to directly contribute to the development of SRFC and its rugby programmes;
• Building a strong online presence to promote Rugby and any opportunities we offer to young people;

All SRFC Youth Panel members will be asked to attend a monthly meeting to discuss current and future plans within the club to feedback into the main Rugby Club Committee.

Who are we looking for?

If you tick all the boxes below, we’d love to hear from you:

• Aged 14-20 years old
• Have a paid membership of SRFC
• Strong motivation to be part of the SRFC Youth Panel and in a position to comment and contribute to discussions.
