Unicorn Strength Castle Douglas have the great honour of being based at the fantastic athletic development centre at The Stewartry Rugby Club.
We offer both Group fitness, coach led classes and Personal Training. Owned and ran by Anne Halliday and Steve Wilson.

We are a diverse cross section of the local population with ages ranging from eighteen to eighty (but we don’t limit you there, you never get too old for us).
There are no barriers or prerequisites to coming in and getting started. We want you here. We want to be part of your journey. We want to help you and support you. Encourage you and laugh with you.
We will teach you how to lift weights safely, how to support your health through good food choices, how to get stronger and fitter.
We will always believe everything is possible for you and will back you one hundred percent.
Each class will be different; we do a huge variety of movements and use all kinds of equipment.
We start off with an explanation of that days objective and what you will be doing during your class.
The coach then takes you through a warm up which will include covering any skills or movements required in the workout.
During the workout the Coach will keep an eye on you and make sure you are not doing anything that could lead to injury.
You get fitter and stronger.
You go home looking forward to your next class!

We can scale everything to a level that will be suitable for your current abilities.
Let’s take a pull up as an example. We never expect anyone who comes to class to be able to do a chin over bar pull up when they first show up. Some can. Not many. We can easily scale this to negative pull ups (jump up, lower down).Or to feet on floor with a low bar (hold bar, lean back, pull yourself towards bar).
Every thing is scalable and progressive.
And you do not HAVE to run ever!

Owner of Unicorn Strength Anne Halliday is passionate about helping people find their true potential. She grew up in the area and returned home after coaching at CrossFit Glasgow for many years. She has 20 years experience in the fitness industry both as a Coach and as a competitive athlete.
And now is delighted to be back home doing the thing she loves for a community she loves.
